Most often, you need not simply "a big stone", but a solution to a specific problem.

People usually come to the M-02 not for abstract decoration, but with a practical problem: how to neatly cover a wide but relatively flat ground-level element in the garden — a large septic tank lid, manhole cover, inspection hatch, valve or distribution chamber, low irrigation manifold. These are objects up to ø 73 cm that do not fit under any S-series stone (max ø 49 cm), but at the same time do not rise significantly above the ground. If the equipment is noticeably higher than ground level (pool pump and filter, transformer box, well pump station), diameter alone is not enough — you also need sufficient internal height in the stone, so we recommend checking such scenarios against the M-02's internal geometry or discussing them with us before ordering.

Conventional solutions either do not fit the format or look unnatural.

A natural boulder of suitable size visually does the job, but such a stone is already heavy cargo with separate logistics, a crane, and access preparation; it has no internal cavity for equipment and costs significantly more. Budget plastic covers are lightweight, but the paint fades and cracks within 2–3 seasons, resulting in that obvious "cover" that stands out immediately.

At the same time, you want a living stone accent, not a "cap over the equipment".

In this size class, it is especially important that the stone reads as a genuine boulder, not as a decorative cover. Otherwise, instead of one technical eyesore, you get another visual problem — a large artificial object in the middle of the garden.

What the M-02 ultimately delivers

The M-02 covers a large technical point up to ø 73 cm, but externally behaves like a natural low boulder. It is a lightweight composite stone with a realistic marble texture and a compact low-profile body: it fits into narrow garden strips, areas along fences and hedges, compact yards — where even the M-01 would not fit — and works not as a "replacement for a problem", but as a full-fledged landscape element.

The M-02 is a hollow engineered shell with a low, asymmetrical profile: a peak ridge of approximately 23 cm at the center, gently sloping down to the edges (about 13 cm on one side and 20 cm on the other). The internal usable diameter is approximately 73 cm, so you can freely cover standard European 60 cm manhole covers, septic tank lids, and other wide flat ground-level elements. However, internal height is limited by the low profile: the usable clearance roughly corresponds to the ridge height at the center and is noticeably lower at the edges. Anything taller than a flat lid or low chamber should be checked against these figures in advance. If you are unsure, send us the height and dimensions of your object, and we will confirm whether the M-02 will fit or suggest another model. The shape is replicated serially, so you receive not an "approximately similar" stone, but a product with predictable geometry and parameters.

How to use it. Simply place the stone directly over the object on any surface: lawn, soil, gravel, paving. No anchoring, no foundation, no tools — in under 2 minutes, the technical point in your garden becomes a natural stone.

Access to equipment. When you need to reach a pump, filter, lid, or manifold, simply lift the M-02 (11.50 kg — a manageable weight for one person, though two people make it easier), perform the necessary maintenance, and put the stone back. Serviceability remains compatible with a tidy garden appearance.

Stability. The stone stays in place thanks to its own weight and its wide base of 89 × 79 cm. The compact form fits where the M-01 (109 × 89 cm) would not — this is the key reason to choose the M-02.

Engineering, not decorative logic. The M-02 has an operating temperature range (−30…+60 °C), a stated static load capacity of 100+ kg, and clear usage guidelines. Fiberglass does not absorb moisture, does not expand or contract significantly with temperature changes, and performs identically in summer, autumn, and winter — no need to remove, cover, or store it seasonally.

Ground contact. The base is open: the stone does not seal the internal volume but rests directly on the surface. Natural micro-air exchange between the cavity and the surrounding environment continues through the ground contact zone.

Safety and load limitations. The product supports a static load of 100+ kg under normal operation. The M-02 is not a load-bearing structure, is not designed for impact loads, and is not intended for jumping or active play without prior structural adaptation. Use in children's and public zones is possible with a pre-agreed usage scenario, engineering adaptation of the structure, and coordination of safety requirements with the customer.

The M-02 is made from a multi-layer fiberglass composite (GFK) — an engineering material of the same class used in shipbuilding. This choice matters because the product is designed not as a decorative souvenir, but as a durable outdoor shell that must withstand moisture, UV load, frost, temperature fluctuations, and normal household use.

The outer surface is natural marble chips and marble powder in an ISO/NPG class gelcoat. The color is not applied on top or printed on film: natural stone chips of different shades are mixed directly into the gelcoat compound and are part of the surface layer itself. Therefore, the texture does not look artificial, and aging does not follow the "paint gone — plastic left" scenario.

Handcrafted — for the surface, not instead of a standard

Each stone undergoes manual production and finishing stages (*In Handarbeit gefertigt*), so the shade and texture distribution may vary slightly from unit to unit — just like real stones in nature. Color and size deviations of up to 3–5 cm are within the acceptable range. This is not "custom in the sense of a lottery": the M-02 is a serial product with a controlled design and repeatable characteristics, where handwork is used for a living surface, not instead of an engineering standard. At 1 metre viewing distance, the stone is visually indistinguishable from a natural boulder.

The M-02 occupies a deliberate position between natural stone and cheap imitation: it retains the visual authenticity of a natural boulder, while functioning as an engineered hollow shell with clear specifications and a predictable usage scenario.

Maintenance is minimal: occasionally rinse with water and a soft brush. No sealing, repainting, or chemical treatment is ever required.

Warranty

The GARTENDEK warranty on artificial stones is 5 years from the date of delivery.

The warranty does not cover:

• mechanical damage;
• cosmetic changes (natural gelcoat matting, minor degradation of the outer layer due to UV exposure);
• exposure to aggressive chemicals;
• use other than intended;
• modifications not agreed with GARTENDEK.

The warranty applies in addition to the consumer's statutory rights under applicable EU legislation.

Shape position

Beyond dimensions, the M-02 occupies a specific place in GARTENDEK's shape taxonomy: it is the compact low-profile partner to the M-01. While the M-01 offers maximum base area for open landscapes, the M-02 delivers the same coverage diameter in a significantly smaller, lower, and lighter package — making it the logical choice for confined spaces, narrow strips, and scenarios where discretion matters more than visual mass.

Does the M-02 look realistic, or will people notice it is artificial?
