2011 — The Idea. First Steps.
It started in 2011, during an economic crisis — not with a business plan, but with an idea. Viktor and Helen, the co-founders of what would become GARTENDEK, imagined creating something that could bring life to outdoor spaces: artificial stones with the look and feel of natural rock, but lighter, more versatile, and engineered to last.
The first artificial stone models, 2012
2012 — First Workshop
The first workshop opened in 2012. By the end of that year, five stone models had been created. Early sales quickly grew into orders from across the region.
2018–2019 — Slovenia & Growth
In 2018, Viktor, Helen and their four children relocated to Slovenia, where VSDN d.o.o. was founded — the company that now manages the GARTENDEK brand. In the same year, a warehouse was opened in Germany, where sales were conducted through a partner German company. In 2019, the product range expanded significantly: the number of stone models reached two dozen, and a new product category appeared — metal raised garden beds.

2020 — Europe-wide
2020 brought the COVID crisis and new challenges. The company expanded logistics across Europe and placed products on local platforms in Poland, Lithuania, Italy, and France.

- 2021–2023: redesigned drawings, better packaging, refined logistics based on years of international shipping experience
- 2024: first fountain systems appeared — modular outdoor water features (HDPE basin, stone cover, pump, optional lighting)

What We Make
Artificial Stones
Engineered landscape products designed for permanent outdoor use. Each stone is a hollow, multi-layer composite structure — not concrete, not foam, and not a decorative imitation.
Materials:
- ISO/NPG gelcoat (UV and weather protection)
- Polyester resins (structural stability)
- Marble chips and sand (realistic texture)
- Fiberglass reinforcement
- Internal moisture barrier
All materials are of European origin.
Key specifications:
- Temperature range: −30 °C to +60 °C
- Load capacity: 100 kg and more under normal use
- Declared service life: 10+ years of outdoor use
- Size categories: S (up to ~70 cm), M (up to ~90 cm), L (up to ~115 cm), XL/XXXL (up to ~170 cm)
Metal Raised Garden Beds
Permanent outdoor structures made from industrial galvanized construction-grade steel with organic polymer coating.
Material specification:
- Steel core: S250GD (EN 10346)
- Zinc coating: Z275 (≥ 275 g/m²)
- Finish: SP35 matte polyester coating (35 µm)
- Wall thickness: 0.45–0.50 mm; fixing stakes: 1.0 mm
Key features:
- Assembly by one person, no special tools for wall assembly (hammer needed for stakes only)
- Average assembly time: ~30 minutes
- Complete kit: walls, connectors, stakes, mole-protection mesh, assembly gloves
- Installation in soil only (not suitable for concrete, tiles, or terraces)
- Available sizes: L (197 × 98 × 63 cm), M (170 × 85 × 63 cm)
Water Decor & Fountain Systems
Modular outdoor water features combining an HDPE basin, artificial stone cover, pump, and optional lighting.
Basin specifications:
- Material: HDPE (high-density polyethylene), ~8 mm thickness
- Self-supporting structure, no concrete or plumbing required
- Static load capacity: ≥ 500 kg
- Closed-loop water circulation
- Basin weight: ~70 kg
- Declared service life: 50+ years
How We Work
We design all products in-house at VSDN d.o.o. and manufacture them at partner facilities within the European Union under our quality control.
We own the engineering solutions, tooling, master models, moulds, and quality standards. Manufacturing partners are not disclosed publicly.
Final processing, assembly, and dispatch are handled from Slovenia.
